I specifically want to talk about Jamaican herbal Teas. The chosen few are:
Cerasee Tea Cerasee Tea is named Momordica charanta. Jamaicans have drank this tea since the days of slavery. The fruit of the tree is yellow with red seeds. The unassuming leaves are commonly treated as weeds. it is commonly believed by Jamaicans to provide purification and help in the recovery of many common ailments. Benefits of Cerasee include: relieves colds relieves menstual cramps contains vitamins A and C Lemongrass Tea Lemongrass is well...a grass. It smells like lemons.... (yummy) Benefits of Lemongrass Tea include: relieves nausea aids digestion acts as a diuretic relieves symptoms of coughs and colds anti-bacterial anti-fungal Sorrel TeaPlease note that I am referring to Jamaican sorrel. Hibiscus sabdariffa Sorrel is a member of the hibiscus family. Sorrel is rich in flavanoids which are a type of antioxidants. Benefits of Sorrel include: reducing risk of heart disease reducing cholesterol levels diuretic relieves coughs and colds source of vitamin and calcium c Sorrel is a great drink as tea, iced tea and as a well... as a drink. It grows to a height of about six feet or more in good conditions, and is very hardy. Jamaican sorrel flowers are creamy yellow and are similar in appearance to small hibiscus flowers.The red sepals and calyx are the parts used in making of drinks and teas, Nowadays, these three herbal teas are available in tea bags.
